I think this is a wonderfully creative vision and very nice execution. If I could make one compositional suggestion. The other musicians should swirl out of the horn in a wavy line maybe getting smaller and fading as they get further away. It could lead the eye to the top right corner over the house. Just a thought.

I like it for a second iteration. This was to honor not only John Coltrane but many of his contempories (sp) and predecessors and I am trying to keep the other musicians identifiable.

A very cool theme. The placement of the figures against the right frame seems a little rigid. I read Keni's suggestion and your response. I'm curious if you tried a little more "random" placement? Would that cover the house too much?

I read the comments and it does seem a bit rigid. I totally understand why you did it. You wanted to make the other musicians recognizable, and not completely cover the house in the background. I think I might be tempted to leave it as it is. Or, I might add musical notes coming out of the horn and leading toward the other artists? Just a thought.

I enjoy your continual, fearless explorations. However, although this one is a fine idea, I miss your original touches, which usually include good composition (center of interest near center or part of a rhythm) and technique (unified color space and good compositing). Okay if just an illustration, but as a stand-alone I don't think it's up to your standards.

I was not happy with this one when I posted it. It is much too structured. I primarily put it up to see if there was interest in the theme. The attempt was/is to honor John Coltrane who has been my favorite saxophonist since I first heard him in the 50s. What I accomplished was to create a King and His Court. Not my idea at all.
