Can you place a protective cover on the touch screen on the D7500.
I have one on my Apply phone, but is it wise to not use one on the D7500?

I use them on my D5600 and Z6. They do not affect the touch operation. Get the hardened glass ones.

I just may do it.
I would then sell my D7100 with MD-15. I am the original owner & still have the boxes.
My D7100 has 1200 shutter actuations cause i use it only as a third camera.
Thanks for the info on the protective cover.

This post is a lot like the posts that ask about clear filters for lenses. The argument could go on for pages.
I place fingers on my screens all day long with 0 effect on the glass. Nikon engineers have spend countless hours perfecting glass that can stand up to your worst abusive hands and still shine like it is new.
Again, my hands are all over that screen every day, hours at a time with no scratches, or permanent damage. In other words, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT.

Yes - but screens can still get scratched. Rather a protective glass than the original. Touch screens still work.
Might not be good for fully reversing screens - which provide their own protection anyway.

Have not scratched it yet, and I use finger nails most of the time. Have you seen scratches on yours?

I agree. I’ve had a screen cover on my D7500 pretty much since I first took it out of the box, and it works fine. Yes, Nikon’s screen can stand up to fingers day in and day out for years, but that’s not the concern. I worry about the sharp object the screen may bump into as its hanging off my side, or anywhere else.

Bill - I was thinking about when shoulder carrying or transferring in/out of bag. I have never scratched one yet - however - Sod's law is a worry? My glass screen protector cost £6 and stays in place by magic. Maybe I worry too much - but £6 for peace of mind ?

I have always used protective screens on everything where available and I can honestly say, none of them ever were scratched so the original would not have been scratched either. I always wonder if it makes the original glass less responsive to finger pressure.

I got one of these at Amazon for my D7200. It’s a great product. Very easy to install. Works with tough screen too. Check the exact physical dimensions of your screen.

Get a multilayered optical glass cover from B&H or such. About $20-$25. If you want cheap, get Dollar Tree protective plastic sheet for phones or tablets. $1 for a package.

Screen protectors are cheap insurance for your camera. Likely you could get by just fine without one, but it does afford a degree of protection at a very modest cost. They're cheap, easy to apply, and usually come in a package of at least 2, so if you do damage the screen protector, you'll have its replacement at hand. I have them on my cameras, as well as on my iPhone, and they don't interfere with anything, including the touch operation.

Totally agree. There are dozens of things you could worry about, many show up on UHH. Forget about it. It’s not going to be a problem and won’t improve your photography.
