I have this lens and everything said about this lens is true. It is also built like a tank. If you can afford it, buy it.

I just spent some time reading about this lens. It sounds fantastic. The review I read stated to maximize focus a tripod is a must. I was wondering if you have used the lens hand-held at 500th of a second shutter speed or faster with any success? Further, I read there is a model that will access metering of a DSLR camera such as the D5 or D850. Is yours that lens model? I think yours is I just want to be sure. Lastly, what model of Nikon camera did you use with this lens? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you, Dale

Dale, look closely at my photo's, one will show 5 pins on the back of the lens that, when mounted on a Nikon digital camera, will confirm focus and work in all exposure modes, A,S,P,M.
I have used this lens on my D5, D850, and D500 without issue. When manual focusing the Nikon will show a DOT when the camera is in focus and arrows if you are too close or too far.
I have used the lens hands held without issue. You can shoot at any shutter speed. I am sure I have taken a shot or two at 1/500 sec. or even faster without issue.
The test results on this lens are fantastic. It is one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used.
I now shoot almost exclusively wildlife and rarely use a macro lens anymore.
I have used this lens for portraiture and again it exceed expectations.
The lens is in Mint condition and comes with everything in the box.
True macro photography can be aided by a tripod. But I like to shoot hand held at a aperture of 22 to assure sharpness through out the shot. Many folks like to focus stack with the D850 but I have not tried this.

Yes, I see that. Looks good. For Macro I think the rate is 1:2.

Still contemplating the cost relative to my use.
