Good catch, Chief.
Thanks, NMGal. I had to go back and search through my external hard drives to find them. I've posted them for a member who posted a photo of a white baby.
Sorry Chief--Whooping Crane. I believe many years ago a group of Whooping Cranes were released into the Sandhill Crane in an attempt to establish a second breeding population. Don't know if it worked or not. This could be one of them or a stray from the Texas flock. In any event good series of a still very rare bird.

I thought so too at first, but I don't think so now. I would be over the moon if it were but it isn't. I talked to the local experts and they showed me photos of both species side by side. Not even close. But thanks for the input, I appreciate it.
Interesting catch Chief ! - Whoppers have a black mask/mustache not seen above ! .......thanks for sharing

Nice set Chief.
Thank you, angler. You might have seen them before. These are reposted for a member who recently posted a photo of a white baby crane.

Thanks, imagemeister. Actually whoppers have lettuce, tomatoes and onions. And jalapenos if you're lucky.
Whoopers on the other hand have legs and feet, a long neck and a big beak. And the black markings that you mentioned.
Sorry, I've been accused of being a smart a$$ more then once.
