How could GOOGLE possibly enter into the equation?

Bill - I am asking UHH members, if they think EMOJI use - represents sarcasm!!!!

An Emoji is like a word or phrase. If you took the time to educate yourself (that's where Google could help) on the various meanings you would know what to use and when.

Because it carries with it, the connotation a Crop Camera is lesser than a "REAL" FF camera …

I'd like to see something other than "Crop" - which also applies to MFT cameras, don't forget …

And, APS-C - is inaccurate, as it applies to a film system, long since discontinued … (late 80s-early 90s)

I dunno what we need to call them, but, we most certainly need SOMETHING NEW, Bill ….

Oh my goodness, you mean I don't have a "real" camera?
To me it's just a different size sensor, nothing else.

Just got the idea, from reading another post - the addition of an Emoji in a comment implies one's joking!!

I don't know about you guys - but, I tend to use one or the other on virtually EVERY comment I make!

I'd hate to think - everyone thinks I'm joking, all the time, if I just add one to provide some lightness, etc.

Would really like to hear back from as many folks as I can. What are your feelings on this?

BTW - latest count shows there to be 26 - of which, only a couple - underline one might be teasing.

The others are for fun - just to lighten up comments. But some, have another take. What do YOU think?
Just got the idea, from reading another post - the... (show quote)

A few more than 26...

It's the snobs who ONLY have FF cameras who consider them REAL, and the folks who use APS-C dig cams - are using "toys" - since they're only producing images one-half the size, or - Heaven Forbid - one quarter of the size (with MFT) and they all demean us further by insisting on the term - CROP … get it, now, Bill?

Cute, Bwana … and I like the analogy to hieroglyphics, too …

But HERE - on UHH - we only have access to 26 (not sure, I may've miscounted) and a few are duplicated, so - am happy with the 26 number - equates to the amount of letters in the alphabet - so, it's a number I can live with … even though the bulb - at least - is duplicated … and I thought the exclamation mark was, too - but, I guess that's a question mark … then there's a right arrow - the rest are all faces ….

Bill - Google can't POSSIBLY know exactly which ones are used here - there are 26, with one duplication. I'm really not concerned with which ones are used elsewhere, and for what. What I AM concerned about is Paul's assertion that ANY use of emoticons on THIS site - underlines the fact the writer is joking … which is why I decided it might be appropriate to do this post. I'm really not concerned with what GOOGLE thinks they should be used for. I only wanted to get a reflection from the UHH members - what THEY feel they should be used for - or NOT - as the case may be. I don't want people to get the wrong impressions, by those who choose to use them - like me. So, I had hoped this post would help to sort it all out ….

You probably read a comment by someone who is trying to make rules no one wants. I don't happen to use them as it is too hard to see the details that make the differences between the different symbols. That, in fact, is the main problem with them. If you need a dictionary to understand, it is too confusing a way to communicate.

Yes, indeed, Hassig - I read a comment from Paul (Chg-Canon) on another post, indicating he believed ANYONE using these things was making a joke. Which alarmed ME, as I quite often use them for emphasis - but, only about a dozen or so of the 26 made available ON THIS SITE … I enjoy using them to emphasize a point … but, became concerned when he indicated that, as I don't wish the folks who read my comments take them the wrong way, because of the simple inclusion of a smiley-face!!! … Hence - THIS POST!

Gees, never realized I was in both camps with both full frame and miniscule 1" sensor cameras. I guess I should count myself lucky not having APS-C or MFT cameras...

I think you can access all of using some combination of key strokes but that generally requires a brain cell or two which I'm rapidly losing...
