Timmers Loc: San Antonio Texas.

What I got out of the BBC documentary as a side view was that things in this area still has many areas for concern. Pulling back one can see that there are still a lot of issues today that are only being covered by systems that do not completely cover the larger issues that we as a nation have. The plight of homelessness and family homelessness are some of these.

While the plight of military personal not receiving any help from the government after serving in the armed services. Perhaps the lesson to be learned is that the Federal Government and the VA and the military are not a good place to look for the help that is needed. Rather it is the community at large that is where human's have come from and are now returning to be the source for the understanding and help that is needed.

Perhaps we all need to understand that we are a community, not of the net but of people we pass daily on our streets and houses. That is where our focus needs to be.

I am reminded of the storm that hit Galveston Texas at about the turn of the century. There was no 'government' to come to their aid. It was the civic leaders and business people who dealt with both the death and destruction in that community. A lot of good evolved from the community that went to create the now municipal governments of today. Necessity is the driving force here. In the 60's there was that expression, "You are either part of the solution or part of the problem." We don't need a slogan or phrase to clarify the answers, just a community of a community of solutions.
