If you read the information about the update it will tell you if it includes all previous updates. Usually the answer is yes. Also, the online instructions are easy to follow. What you are doing is getting the bin file on the card and putting the card into your camera. Then using the menu in your camera, you tell the camera to update and it takes it from there. Easy! Nikon has made it easy and fairly foolproof if you read the information.

I used to use rechargeable AA's in the grip and it came up wrong battery type. I haven't tried leaving it on since I switched to the EN-EL18. I'll have to try it with the grip next time.

You can also leave the XQD card slot empty, as I have done yesterday with the .bin file in the SD card. The update worked flawlessly in about three minutes.
