So you refuse to look at the published government data that shows a continued improvement trend since 2008? F**e news, huh.

Back that up to 2006.

Trumplestiltskin just got a little schooled.
He had been nattering about JOBS! and American cars. Tariffs on Chinese auto parts!
Well, there are complications.
Like, shared assemblies and systems. Or rebranding: a Chevy Prism is a Toyota Corolla.
We get parts and assemblies from Canada and Mexico- much of that is made of Chinese parts.
The Big3 stated they don't have the facilities- nor the willingness- to make these parts.
The Big3 stated they don't want to add @10%+ to their sales price.
A few lobbyists "convince" a few advisors and- auto parts will be exempt for at least 6 months.

Not just libs. Anyone can come across a good business deal. As time goes on the deal seems to get better and they keep putting more assets in it either without considering the risk, or the reward was worth it.

Most large scale manufacturers do not single source parts, they always have contingent vendors qualified and available, but it takes time to bring them online, thus the 6 months.
