Trying Canon EOS RP

Had to try it and it's a neat camera! This was shot with a Tamron non-upgraded firmware 28-300 lens and cropped from the full frame image. Needs some getting used to but it's lightweight and practically no shutter noise. ISO 800, 1/500 second. Comments always welcome.

Beautiful. Glad to see this and read your comments. What lenses in your collection are, and are/not, compatible with the RP?

Thanks all! To LPigott The Tamron 28-300 is NOT set for the EOS RP... don't know about any others. I'm scaling down to this setup for weight, quality and my age!

I like the detail in the shoot. I am thinking about getting an RP in the next month. I handled the R and did not like the dial layout or that bar in the back, but I do like the RP layout.

I recently added the RP to my stable. In limited use so far, I find it to be a nicely put together camera. Using both Canon L, Tammy and Sigma glass.

A nice feature on the camera is the ability to shoot EF-S lens through setting to crop 1.6 on image aspect ratio.

My experience indicates you will enjoy it.

Good info on how it works with EF-S lenses.

I just added the EOS RP to my batch of cameras. I've tried it with a variety of Canon lenses and some non-Canon lenses. It really outperformed my expectations. I have the old 28-135mm and the first edition of the 24-105mm lenses amongst others. I find that the 28-135mm lens seems to pair very nicely with this camera. I have watched my share of reviews before committing to buying this camera. But the reviews that I watched made no mention of focus bracketing which assists in focus stacking. And the in-camera distortion correction for Canon lenses is very effective. It also has a built-in intervalometer. It has many other features which I have not had time to explore. Frankly, I bought this camera mostly out of curiosity but it has quickly captured my interest and it will become my camera of choice, I'm sure.

Just the Tamron 28-300mm... all the other equipment was just getting too heavy to cart around. This is all I need until the urge hits me again!
