I am considering getting a quality monitor to attach to my laptop for editing photos and prepping for printing because of the monitor on my laptop shows my photos so poorly. My question is, will this indeed improve things or will the graphics card or whatever in the laptop just give me poor performance even with an upgraded monitor. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C855-S5214.
I don't know what you'll need to use with your particular lap top. I do however know that adding a decent monitor will improve image rendering.
And the image can be larger, helping with edits.

Thanks. I'm just starting to research monitors. Chuck
Agree with the previous poster. A good sized free standing monitor is almost essential for photo editing with a laptop, IMHO.
As part of your research, you may want to check out Eizo monitors. They are not cheap though.
