Nice shot. Just returned from Parma Italy in March. Also very crowded. Florence even more, but so worth it. David statue is unbelievable, along with so much more.

We had a private tour of the Academia where David is. Got some awesome shots that I’m still processing. And I agree, the crowds suck, but the visual experience is worth it.

Nice shots. If you are still there visit the cemetery behind the church right up the hill...
Has a lot of cool memorials in it.. worth a stop.
Florence is one of the worlds greatest cities, no doubt.

Florence is a beautiful place, but we’re long gone. We did stay in a very nice hotel on the hill in Firenze. The Belmond Villa San Michelle. Here’s the photo. Pricey but worth it to me. Can’t take it with me and I’m not gonna be here on planet earth long enough to spend it all so I’m spoiling my lady and I. Our suite was on the terrace.
This property was a monastery and then a nunnery before it was transformed into a hotel. The service is impeccable, you want for nothing there.

And the architect is believed to have been none other than Michelangelo Buonarroti.

Just for the work on the facade from what we were told. But there is a fresco of the Last Supper in the main building.

We sent 3 weeks in Florence in 2016. If I could get my doctors to go with me, I’d live there. Your ire of Ponte Vecchio is great. How did you pp this; I love the effect.

I did the post in Affinity and did some light cropping, white balance, minimal clarity adjustment and contrast. Added some black point, highlights and that was all I really needed. The 5d4 is a great camera and the 24-105L version II is spot on for clarity.
Edit. Plus, I did that in RAW on the iPad Pro.

Impressive. You know, it’s funny how different photographers see things in different ways, well in my 2016, 3-week stay in Florence, I must have shot Ponte Vecchio a half-dozen times, but never from the angle you picked. I like yours better.

Yes, I have some I had taken from along the river, from the window of Uffizi Museum, and from the bridge by the weir dam, but this one from MichaelAngelo Square was the composition I liked the best.

When we were in Florence, we took the hike up the hill to Michelangelo Square to get a view of the city. A view of the Gold Bridge and the Medici walkway.
Please enjoy.

Beautiful photo! We spent 6 days there in the summer of 1973, part of an 11 week trip all over Europe. Florence was our favorite city of the trip. We will have two nights in port in Pisa next summer on a cruise and we can't wait.

After 2weeks in Italy and 2 in Spain, I can easily say Florence was my favorite. Drivers don’t honk their horns and the cabbies don’t scream at anyone, most people are very friendly and the food was to die for. That and it is just a beautiful city, not something I say very often.
