The keyring might be the weak link, and you need only one.
I guess you could use one of the layered ones.
Went to the hardware store, brought the parts and now I have one.... Looks like its going to work out really well..
seems to me that the camera riding on you hip would be a bother to you and a danger to banging the camera on the edge of something
This is why I use an elastic harness - the camera rests on my lower chest - snugly, doesn't swing around & fits inside a jacket during inclement weather, and is instantly available. of course this is a bridge camera not a "loaded for bear" DSLR LMAO.

My take on it too.
For people in the UK unfamiliar with imperial threads the eye bolt is
1/4 unc
not common here looked on ebay, the ones listed are all from the USA looks like a good idea. Happy hunting for the eye bolts.

Yes, my thoughts also Twitcher and Flyguy.... I find it Very comfortable dangling on my hip with my hand lightly holding it so not so to swing to and fro - no problem at all... So much more comfortable than hanging on my neck...

I like it, but I think I'm too "fluffy" to use a standard strap to hang down that far.
Been really tempted to buy one from Amazon, but I'm always one that likes to make my own stuff when possible. I may have to see if I can find a longer strap type thing, and give it a shot.
Looks OK but i got an OP TECH very comfy neoprene sling sliding strap, brand new for about $12 on Amazon.
I would use a large standard key ring and run the strap through it before installing the clasp for the strap ends. I would not trust the key ring she had. Just my thoughts.
