Got this mother osprey this morning protecting her chicks. She was uttering an almost guttural growl as I approached. You could hear her babies chirping in the nest.

The nest is located 20 feet from a busy highway ...I opened my truck door and stepped out maybe 5 feet closer to the nest. My wife and I were commenting on how close it was to a busy highway. if I knew it was going to anger it I wouldn't even have stopped the truck.

DISRESPECT is a very bad word to a 22 year retired Marine. In NO way was I disrespecting nature. I spotted the nest and pulled my truck just off the busy road and stepped out to take the photo. My wife was afraid that I was going to be hit by a speeding vehicle. DISRESPECT has a very very bad connotation to me. It is my biggest pet peeve in life. YOU just disrespected a combat veteran who if it weren't for us you would not have the freedom to malign another human being OPENLY.

If you are causing stress for the animal, that is most certainly showing disrespect for the animal.
