Better quality pictures once the train stopped. But, large crowds and limited access to the left side of the engine limited what I could get photographs of.

The diesel serves as an electric generator to provide power to the cars as there is none on the steamers. It also provides some dynamic braking if necessary.

#2 illustrates what always fascinates me about steam engines. All the pipes, tubings, valve levers - whatever do the do.
