I should state that I have a new Dell and run DeNoise Al with no problems.

Topaz is well aware of how slow DeNoise AI is. I have sent them two emails explaining to them the fact that it takes forever when the files come from a 24 megapixels camera. I also asked them about fixing banding but I have not got an answer from them yet. Most probably the artificial intelligence takes care of it but they have not said a word about it.

The program is excellent to control noise but be aware, if you are not that the file in need of noise control should be run through DeNoise first BEFORE any editing for best results. I am sure Topaz is already working to make DeNoise faster.
When I use the program I try to keep my settings as close to default as possible. I have a new and powerful Lenovo computer and the program is indeed slow.

When I first tried Giga pixels and Denoise AI it took over 30 minutes for it to complete When I checked my video card it had only 2 gig My Pc is home build and 5 years old
I went on line and did some checking on what I needed and they suggested 6 gig so i ordered a video card with 8 Gigs installed it and now Giga pixels and
De noise completes in about 5 sec and my Memory is still 16 gigs and that is on a average 25- 30 MB picture

My new EVGA GeForceĀ® GTX 1080 Ti video card has 11Gb and my renderings are done in less than 30 seconds (in another post, I wrote NVIDIA). We are all using the same program and the times to process vary all over the place - I maintain that it is a function of the components in the computer. I cannot understand why people continue blame the program. What they really mean is that the program runs slow on their computer.

The reason people "continue to blame the program" is that we as individuals have become accustomed to the way programs such as Photoshop. Lightroom, Affinity, ON1 Raw, etc. run on our specific computers and all of these programs run about the same and require approximately the same resources to run acceptably fast. This then becomes our own individual "norm". Then along comes a program such as Topas Denoise AI that requires resources to run acceptably fast that most of us don't have. This program is an outlier from our norm and hence the program is blamed. The designers of this program should have looked at their average audience and designed the program to operate with those resources in mind rather than cater to the individual that has an i9 8-core processor and a $1500 video card.

You are correct. My previous computer was about 5 years old and when I bought my current computer (put together by the Geek Squad), I kept the Topaz AI programs in mind. As technology moves forward one of two things will occur. Either the current AI programs will be engineered to use less resources or our "normal" computers will get faster. Actually, maybe a little of both.

IMHO, I think that it will be both.
