Hoping this one is not stolen by squirrels. Two others were. I think I've placed it in a location that may be squirrel proof.
It's a bit noisy!!
This is my first photo.
Thanks for viewing.

I feel your pain! I tried this type of suet feeder twice. I would fit d them all over the yard - I never knew where they would be. I wondered if it was squirrels and now you've answered the question. That's a very nice shot. The bird is sharp.

Thanks, Carol. Squirrels are clever and very persistent.

I located the 6ft rod in an area away from hanging branches and shrubs. Hopefully that will out smart the squirrels. (Maybe?)

I've had squires "get into" my suite feeders but, usually, when they disappear, I find the on the ground, or in the bushes it's been a Ratcoon visit during the night. I have a big problem with Starlings, blackbirds , and Red-wing Blackbirds getting on a fresh cake and finishing the whole thing in a couple of hours.

Good luck with the squirrel-proofing! And let me know if you find a solution!

Unless they can climb the skinny 6 ft. pole, I do not see a way they can attack the feed cage. However, I'm not as smart as a squirrel.

Good luck Mark......it was quite Rainy yesterday up & down the East coast and we got soaked but the exposure was even and good for shots like this one. Today may offer better results.

All you need is a proper squirrel guard. You can buy it at your nearest birdfood store. It's a clear plastic cone (with an opening in the middle). The the opening is too small for the squirrel, and when it tries to climb around the outside, it get's dumped to the ground.
