Is their a section on UHH dedicated to Affinity (or software processing) for very specific questions? I can’t find one so far.

Never occurred to me there would be a separate section on post processing.
In one of the stickied topics on PP Forum home page are several tutorials for Affinity.
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-156310-1.html

If anyone knows of others done by active UHH members, please let me know and I'll add (I'm the current PP Forum moderator).

Regarding UHH sections, the overwhelming majority of UHH users hang out in Photo Gallery and main discussion. However, there are over 30 specialty areas (see "all sections" at bottom of any page).

Unfortunately, the volunteer-moderated sections are invisible if you don't subscribe, and are still invisible if you're viewing an emailed digest without being logged in. Subscribe to all of interest, then log in and use the "newest topics" link on the website instead of the digest.

I completely agree with all the above. I have been using Affinity for about a year and like it very much. I highly recommend it. My only serious problem with it is not being able to center images when printing. For that I use Qimage as a stand alone. Works well.

A PDF of the online User manual was created by a user of Affinity. It can be found here:

As an every day user of Affinity, I found the online tutorials accessed from the Affinity site to be the most helpful. The Affinity Workbook is very helpful good. They supply the files for you to work on so you can see the exact results that the book shows. I started on the Workbook but got sick and didn't get finished. I am back at it now. Youtube also has helpful videos that are not listed on the Affinity site.

All this positive feedback on a product for only $45 plus another $45 for the book! I'm currently using CaptureOne Pro and like everything about it but the cataloguing feature. Can someone please comment on Affinity's library or cataloguing ability?

Thinking of purchasing Affinity in place of Photoshop. Does this software support layers?

Short answer: Yes. Affinity Photo is great replacement for Photoshop and offers some advantages over Photoshop in the area of panoramas/mosaics, stacking, HDR and focus merge/stacking.

I moved to Affinity Photo when it was released for Windows and will never go back to Photoshop!

If you go this route, pick up the Affinity Photo Workbook; excellent reference and loads of processing examples.

Affinity currently has no cataloguing capability.

I was hoping that had changed by now. Too bad, my search continues. Any suggestions? Oh, yeah, I just don't like Adobe products or their leasing model.

I use a digital asset management program called IMatch. It is very powerful and capable - a lot more than I really need! I bought it years ago. It has grown since then and gotten pricier. But, depending on what you want, it might be worth a look. You can find it at photools.com.
