https://petapixel.com/2019/05/02/adobes-10-photography-plan-gone-from-site-cheapest-is-20-month/Well, this is a real shocker. :-)
Now the incentive to switch out of Lightroom / Photoshop has just ratcheted up one big notch. I thought about it and I will have to do more research but finding a bundle of applications that can do all the functions these two integrated applications can do is a tall order
Imports and Digital content management
Raw processing
Non destructive editing
Cloning out objects and distractions
HDR stitching
Pano Stitching
Layers and masks
Assigment of attributes/stars/colors/ratings
Keywording
I hope for the extra 10 buckers, there might be some benefits to to using Lightroom CC (besides the less name confusion). They are tossing in some storage too. (No Thanks, I'm Good.)
Y'all let me know if anyone finds the golden ticket!

Adobe produced Professional image manipulation for professionals. Those with editors to satisfy and deadlines to meet - It was always a costly program. There were very few alternatives and some people even made their own fortune by post processing alone....For those that couldn't get to grips with it.
But then, Photography was done by a few individuals. Even now you can probably only name a handful of top earning image makers.
In recent years there has been an explosion in 'Mass Photography'. Whilst Adobe has tried to meet the demand by subscription- other's have seen the opportunity to create Post Processing Programs for the masses free or at a much reduced price. Equally - some of the 'whistles and bells' that 'only photoshop' allowed you to do - can now be done 'in camera'.
Like Rolls Royce....there are people who will pay the exorbitant price for a BMW with a winged lady on the bonnet. 'Image over Substance'.
Adobe needs a new technological breakthrough in order to compete in what is now an open market. Perhaps 3D or Holographic's. If they don't already perhaps they will merge with a camera maker to 'beef up' in camera options. (an AUTO that really works in all situations)
There is no reason for most amateurs to stick with Adobe at the moment. And amateurs are the biggest market for all things photographic.
Re look at your options
Have fun

Fake News! This is just a trial balloon launched by Adobe’s marketing team. The $9.99 price is not changing yet. As reported by calmer heads at FujiRumors.
And note to member G. Brown: There are plenty of professional photographers out there who use Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop. Not correct to say the bundle is only for amateurs. /Ralph

Paul, you are such a delight! 🙈🙊🙉
Strange marketing test. I just went to Adobe.com and went through the process, just short of putting in my credit card #. They were ready to take $240 for a I year subscription. I wonder how many people pay that?
There was no $10 option.

Sure would be nice if people actually would READ postings.
Yes, the $19.99 plan is available, has been for awhile. The $9.99 plan is NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
The differences between the plans is the CLOUD STORAGE capacity. For $9.99 you get 20GB storage included, for $19.99 you get 1TB storage included.
Its simple to figure out people!

When Adobe does not show the $9.99 option when you go to the "compare plans" page, it isn't that simple.
You would have to know enough not to buy directly from Adobe. It might still show the lower price for current customers, or they randomly make some people buy a more expensive plan.

“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”
The hard-to-find $10/mo plan and the easy-to-find $20/mo plan may be a marketing experiment at the moment, but the ability of Adobe to raise the price at any time in the future is the primary reason I've not switched to the subscription model. And a few years ago, when I bought LR6 as my final upgrade, it was NOT easy to find on the Adobe site among all the CC choices. So it's not surprising that somebody could think that the $20 plan is now the only one available.

What I was saying was that PS was aimed at the professional - because the amateur was not as numerous as it is now. The fact that PS is still considered 'the best option' harks back to that 'Impression'. There are many many options available now aimed at the MASS market. Adobe must be feeling the pinch.
