My SB 400 flash just quit working. I used it last week and it was fine. I took out the batteries as usual and put it back in the closet. Yesterday I needed to use it again. I put the batteries back in---it would not turn on. I put in 2 different sets of fresh batteries---same thing. I cleaned the contacts, blew out the battery compartment---same thing. It just won't turn on. (I know the replacement batteries were good--used them in another item). The unit was not dropped or otherwise damaged as far as I know. Does any on have any suggestions a to might be wrong or what i could do to try to fix the problem ? The flash has been discontinued but I like the small size for traveling. Any suggestions for a replacement of similar size, power and features would be appreciated. Thanks-Jerry
You can get a used one from B&H Photo for $75. The condition is rated as a 9. I would also check KEH Photo. They sell a lot of good used photography equipment too. Also check eBay. The renowned Nikon SB-910, which is now discontinued, is no longer repaired by Nikon USA anymore.
Thanks---I just ordered it. Should arrive next week.
