Haymaker -- Beautiful pics

You have reminded me of something that I read 20 years ago or more.

This image was made with my flatbed scanner. The only tweak was to boost the saturation (in the scanner). I didn't even clean the glass, plenty of dust and probably a bit of dog hair. I got the black background by leaving the scanner lid open in a darkened room.

I hope that get time to do something that is actually worthy of your challenge.

This is great! "Old school" got it done! Thank you for sharing.

Here is the result of my experiment using my phone.
Computer monitor provided the lighting and used my gear as the subject.

Love the monochromatic! Nice gear, too!

This will be a wonderful challenge for many! I have two for now, and will try some new ones later today. Many of mine are food related, but here are a couple from my file.

Very nice! Lilac and clematis (I think that's what they are) against the gray wood is wonderful!

This looks interesting. I need to read up on this. Looks like fun. Thanks, Haymaker, for hosting and for introducing us to something different,

A friend asked me to take some shots for her floral shop. I had not heard of it before that. She was pleased, so I went to the grocery store to buy more "subject matter". Looking forward to what you come up with!

Flat lay photography has become popular on instagram and while it may appear simple, I find it to be pretty involved. My experience, so far, is limited to floral flat lay, and to manipulate the heads of the blooms can be frustrating (also, often times that bloom is no longer suitable for being used in an arrangement) I have only recently begun to explore this genre and I invite you all to give it a go. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Attractive images and they help with the definition of flat lay which is new to me.
