I seem to have lost the eyecup on my Nikon D750, I just noticed it was gone. Don't know how, when, or where! After doing some research, it appears to be a design flaw with the D70. Just wondering if any other Hoggers have experienced this, and if so, did you come up with a viable solution, other than carrying some extras in your camera gear bag.

I lost the eye-piece form my Df when family member handled my camera during my daughter's weeding last year, it's easy to be loosen because it is screwed on type. No big deal, replaced it with new one and make sure it is tight every time using the camera.

I shoot in rain sometimes so I switch between a Ruggard rain shield and my regular eye piece. Sometimes they go missing and the more I switch the easier it is for the eye piece to come off. Also an issue if yo do long exposures and remove the eye piece to put on a cover to block light. I think all manufactures should just pack a few in with every camera.

Never ever had that issue with any of my Canon's!

"IF" you never remove the eyecup from the camera then you probably never will experience the problem -- In my case I often use Canon's Right Angle View Finder which requires the removal of the Eyecup -- I found that it did not take that many removals to loosen up the eyecup leading to the darn thing falling off the camera -- My current Canon camera's eyecup does not appear to suffer from that problem -- At least not yet

Had trouble with the original eyecup on my D7000, apparently from getting it in and out of my backpack. On close inspection one of the small plastic tabs meant to keep it on had broken off. I was able to order replacement eyecups from amazon.com for not too much money, and never had any issues with the replacement.

I am surprised that so many of you have lost them. I say that 'cause I bought a Hoodman (large size for use with glasses) for my D7100. It's been on for years. I remove it occasionally to get a better view when reviewing shots taken. It is still on very securely and still takes effort to slide it on and off. My mind never considered to it coming off easily.

For what it's worth...

Never have lost one on any of the various Pentax cameras I've had, digital or film.

The eyecup on my D750 comes off all the time, usually in the case/backpack. Annoying really.

Lost two from my D600. Solution? Shoot without the eyecup!

I too lost the eyepiece from my Nikon Df when I carried my camera on my neck and walked thru a shopping center in Hong Kong. I bought a new one and also the DK-17.
I never used the eyecup. I always threw away the eyecup that came with the old Canon AE-1, A-1 etc..

I replaced mine with the Nikon 1.2X mag. eyepiece, it's good for MF macro shooting.
