I am not sure if its my monitor or your intended effect, but the "after" image is showing a pink/magenta tint overall. The water is distinctly pink and the tone can be seen throughout the rocks and foliage too.

My humble opinion, you managed to turn a great waterfall into something I dont understand.
But for what its worth I think Picasso was the worlds greatest con artist.

This would be why I don't post produce photos. It's a bit more challenging when you're color blind, and you really don't know what you're looking at. It's like walking a tightrope blindfolded. Ill advised at best.

I can see how the tweaking brought up the pretty colors along the stony banks on either side of the waterfall... so I think I know what you were going for.
Would you like me to try?
I don't know if you'd be able to tell if you're colorblind... but you DID mention that you didn't have a program that you felt was decent.

Tilde, sure, give it a whirl. I can see color, but the best way to explain it is, my blue isn't the blue you see. It's a color i've learned to call blue. It may in fact be yellow to your eyes. Understand?

Yep. I understand :)
I thought as much... that must make things difficult.
However, it could be a great thing in situations that call for more creativity than puritanical/photo-journalistic shots.

The color in the original shot is fine. Crop to a vertical format and open up the shadows just a little.
