Looking for some suggestions on a large/Extra large bag. I just purchased an additional D3s and now need a larger bag to fit my gear. I need to fit 2 D3s', a 70-300mm, a 105mm and a 50mm. Add a couple of external flash units, a few extra batteries and some miscellaneous items. Any ideas?

This is the bag you need, it originally cost more than $130.00. And yes, it says Nikon on the bag and on the strap(that is padded) it is a great value and will easily hold all of your lenses, is holds my new 500 5.6 straight up and down and my 200-500 straight up and down (with a little help).
Great bag, GREAT PRICE, and it is a NIKON bag, made by NIKON. Did I mention it is made by Nikon for Nikon gear. Good, LOOK.

Bill - could you explain what you mean - by this phrase:

"200-500 straight up and down (with a little help)."

Secondly, whilst I commend you for finding a bag which seems just the ticket for the OP's needs, I have to wonder about the wisdom of ANYONE picking a bag, which has the name of the camera-maker on the outside. It seems like an open invitation, to would-be thieves. I have a couple, like that, one with the Canon name on the outside, and the other with the Olympus name on the outside - but I have NEVER used EITHER. I prefer bags from THIRD PARTY companies. This way nobody knows WHAT you're carrying!

The 200-500 sticks above the bag about 2 inches but the top of the bag will still close over it. It does not come just to the top of the bag but above it by 2 inches but the top flap of the bag still closes and snaps with no difficulty.
As for the second part, it does not matter the name on the bag, any large camera bag says "hey thief, look, I have a large camera bag, I wonder what's inside, could it be CAMERA'S.

Ah, I see … so, you just forced it, a little, huh … don't you think that's chancy?

I disagree with you about camera names on bags, though. If you use a 3rd party bag - nobody has any idea WHAT you're carrying - it could be gym equipment, or school supplies, or just clothes. But, if you use a Canon or Nikon labeled bag, Bill - it says to the would-be thief - "Come and take my cameras!!!"

The strongest shoulder bags that I have ever checked out are the LowePro Magnum series. They have a one-piece molded bottom that is strong and can take a lot of weight. A lot of bags will sag from the weight of the gear inside. Not the LowePro Magnum series. I have the Magnum 200AW. It's a fairly large bag. The 400AW and 650AW are even larger. They also have a rain cover that pulls out of a zippered pouch. I've been caught in the rain and used the rain cover. Check out the LowePro Magnum 650AW.

I also endorse the LowePro Magnum 200AW. I have one from my film days. I can load more gear then I care to carry. At my age now I use a folding luggage cart to work out of the Magnum bag.

Hi, Billingham Camera Bags are excellent and do last a long time. However very heavy and I find there are very little pockets for small items or ways to "lock" the bag easily. But in no way do I have a problem with these bags. I own (4) of them in various sizes and loved the look for many years.

However, I discovered "PeakDesign"Company, and find them very interesting with excellent instructional video's for their products. Fun to watch as well. Peak Design's products are very well made with many new feature's. The new Travel Backpack 45L is expandable from 35L to 45L and fits optional "cubes" as they are called for only bodies and lenses, or partial camera equipment with either a tech or wash pouch. There are various ways to use this backpack, and I recommend seeing their video before buying. They are attractive, light and water proof or resistant (not sure). Has various pockets that are visible, or hidden.

Peak Design also makes a very nice Sling known as Everyday Sling 10L or 5L. I have the 10L and find it very handy and light, with also the expandable option.

Bart … could you please elaborate on this phrase:
"partial camera equipment with either a tech or wash pouch." … sounds intriguing ….

Personally I find the sizes of the pockets on the Billingham exceptionally useful, as they are big enough to fit filter wallets, hard drives, notebooks, and other reasonably big items while maintaining many pockets so that you can sort your gear. I use small zipper pouches to put small items in. The partitions in the main compartment are flexible and available in many sizes. I have no need for the add on pouches at the end, but they are available to store larger items. And I've never felt the need to lock a bag - it's too easy to grab the whole thing!

I also find the weight quite acceptable, especially with the neoprene pad. The four point mounting spreads the weight quite evenly, and the pad is the best I've ever used on any gear. My wife is petite, but she carries almost as much gear as I do without complaint.

They are beautifully made, aren't they? But they're also quite unobtrusive in that I might well be carrying my workout gear or almost anything else. I have a number of other bags for various purposes, including several smaller ones that hold a body and one or two lenses, but I always wind up using the Billingham as my "base" bag.

Nikon Large Pro camera bag. $74.95 at B&H. Will hold all of your gear and then some. I carry 2 DSLRs with lenses attached, 4 other lenses, flash, batteries. Also has front and side pockets. Can also fit a mini iPad.

Lowepro Whistler BP 450 AW is what I have.

It can handle a LOT of gear, and is thoughtfully laid out.
It zippers in reverse (meaning when you are wearing it, the opening is towards your back).
I shoot a lot near and in water. They make it so easy to change out gear.
Just slip out of the shoulder harnesses, and slide it around to your front.
The waist harness stays in place.
You can then open it up at waist level...do what ever you need to do and slip it right back on your back without the bag ever touching the ground.

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions. Time for me to do my homework and research the bags. It will be used daily, traveling to shoots. The weight is a consideration, but I do prefer a shoulder bag. No long trips, just home to car, car to venue. Again, thanks you all.

Not a fan of advertising what I've got in the bag. Feel more comfortable with a non descript look. Thanks for the suggestion, and I will take a look at it.

Those two - extremely light - LowePro Bags, TCol - are the Nova Sport 35L AW and the 17L AW. The first one is specifically designed for two large bodies. The smaller one, is more appropriate for only one, actually. But they BOTH have many, many large pockets on the outside, and many, many dividers, inside. And, neither one was terribly expensive, either …

There are so many Kit bags around, TCol … the Domke series are also considered very reliable. Only thing is - they are soft bags - with little to no real structure. I prefer ones with a fixed shape. Take a look at those LowePro Nova Sport ones. They may suit you, just fine - especially, the bigger one. So light, too ….
