Two beautiful owls were hatched in early April and fledged yesterday. I have mixed emotion with little sadness and much happiness.
Mommy we are hungry.

Cool shots. A couple years ago I found a Great Horned Owl nest. I went every day for weeks. I took thousands of pictures. When they fledged I was so depressed. I've been back to the same tree, many times, hoping they may be around but I've never seen them since. I know how you feel!! Gary

Very touching shots of the Barred owl and her young. Last April, when I was still able to walk, I got to see two young Barred owls about 600-700' from my house. I have seen Hootie and the mate 3 years in a row, so if you can get back to the same area, you might be able to see the young next year. They tend to stay in the same area.
