Well, I was, B … the scales I used to use at home, would fluctuate as much as 15 pounds from one day to the next. So, when I compared THOSE results - with the results I got from the Doctor's Scale - I knew there was MORE to it - than just ME losing, then gaining - 2-5 lbs., per day … I finally decided NEITHER of them was reliable, and threw them in the dumpster. Broke my heart to do it, with the digital one, though. I've looked into the sliding weight type for home use, but they're just NOT realistically priced, I'm afraid.

As for the numbers for comparison between cameras, since the ones given in my last post - taken from the Camera Decision site - for the D3s and the D4s - clearly DON'T match the numbers you gave in your list up above … I am aware there are broad variances - not only amongst the measurements themselves, but also - WHO MADE the measurements, so you have USER ERROR - involved, too - do you see, B?
Well, I was, B … the scales I used to use at home,... (show quote)

Chris ... you idiot.
I have 2 cameras that meter wrong. Consistently. Knowing this, I just adjust my shooting by 1.5 stops and get decent pics. I have an old selenium meter Russian camera that is way off. I put in 400 film, set it to 100, and shoot away.
I live in LA. "Sunny 16" can be off by a 1/2 stop, depending on how long ago rain and/or onshore winds cleared the air.
You goto the doctor's office, nice clean and shiny, take your shoes off, and get weighed. On the way home you grab a happy meal, leave your shoes on, and OMG it's DIFFerent! Did you test that digital scale for prevailing conditions? ie, place it on a solid hard floor, mark where your feet go, and weigh yourself a dozen times a few minutes apart? I've got Sharpies marks on mine- I can gain or lose 4 pounds by going a half inch out of bounds.
If I take a picture of a woman in daylight- the camera may meter slightly different if I focus on her top button vs focus on her nose.
What if I like my pictures a half stop lighter than you do? Who is wrong?
Depending on conditions, my camera might think 6.8fps = 7fps = 7.4fps.
Then again, you just might have a 10% margin of error to keep in mind. Consistency is key.

Harry … you think it's idiotic of me to have thrown out all my scales? … Or, idiotic of me not to use slight over and under exposure settings on my cameras, as needed … (I do!!!) … The scales were taking up space unnecessarily, and were collecting filth and bugs. They just wore out my patience!!!!

I agree with you, Harry - consistency is key.

BTW - I am always on the look-out, for a newer, and more accurate scale. When I find one, I will - most certainly - take the plunge. For now, I am adjusted to getting a new reading once a month, rather than deal with daily fluctuations - which tend to affect my temperament. The Doctor's Scale - always gives me a progressive weight loss adjustment - which suits me just fine!!!

*Yes. My digi scale is @5# under the docs. Consistently. I don't care. It;s the weekly average. *

What kind of place you live in when filth and bugs happen to your scales?
Iso Alcohol will fix most of that *

I am a notso small person. If we're only talking a couple of pounds, maybe a 1 to 3% fluctuation for me, that could also mean either an extra trip to the bathroom or the fridge.
How accurate do you need that scale to be? As long as my feet are in the right place, my cheapy is pretty consistent.
