I use T-Mobile. Unlimited Text and Data overseas in most countries. Phone use is 25cents per minute.

I concur here. I pay $20 per month for a single line on Consumer Cellular 250 minutes a month, unlimited text. Had to get ripped off by US Cellular, Verizon and Sprint to learn my lesson. Consumer Cellular also has a Grandparents dedicated device connecting grandparents and children with a small monitor. Nominal monthly fee.
I don't do data on on phones. I use a small laptop and free wifi spots. No cell network HotSpots for me, with the proliferation of free WiFi in so many locations. So can't speak to Consumer Cellular there.

With T-Mobile your phone is your Hotspot so you can connect your laptop or tablet and pay no datalk charges

WhatsApp does NOT require iPhones.
Available for Android phones as well as Mac and Windows PC's.

sorry thought it only for people with iPhones as my sister couldn't download it on her other phone that wasn't an iPhone my apologies and thank you for advising me. I cant download the app on my Mac or iPad just my phone
