Yesterday I received my Fuji 27mm lens from Hong Kong. This Fuji X-T30 is a "second" camera, so I'm not going to spend a lot of m only on extras. I got this lens from a seller on eBay for $209, delivered in five days. I like it! It's small - what I was aiming for - and I don't have to select a focal length. Focus is fast and automatic, and the results are good. I have to thank a woman here who recommended this lens. Sorry I can't find out who it was.

I have found it to be an excellent lens. I brought it with me to use as my only lens (on an XT-1 [I haven’t yet mastered all its capabilities]) while in Tuscany and have found it to produce wonderful mostly landscape images, although, assuming one is prepared to use one’s leg zoom, one can also produce very precise images of other kinds. I have every confidence you will end up using your Fujifilm combo more than you anticipated.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Might be too soon to ask, seeing as how you've only had the lens for a day, but how does it stack up against whatever other lens/lenses in that range you might already have? I ask because I only have two native Fuji lenses and both are zooms. Sort of itching to use one or another of the primes, and the 27mm seems really tempting, focal length-wise and for what I generally shoot. Problem is --for me, at any rate-- its hard to justify acquiring a lens that falls within a range I already have covered unless there's some marked improvement.

I recently bought that lens. When on my Fuji xt20 it fits in my pocket. Excellent image quality too!

I have the 27mm, the 18-135, the 50-140 and the 16mm f/1.4. You will not find any improvement except for weight and bulk.

I don't have that lens, but I do have several other Fuji lenses. I don't think there is any difference in the quality of the image: All of the Fuji lenses are excellent in that regard. The only differences among them is how they handle physically: weight, bulk, aperture ring movement, etc. The little 27 fits the need for something small and light with the versatility of the 35mm of the film SLR. And it may be just a wee bit sharper at that range than any of your zooms.

It was me :) You are welcome. Seemed perfect to drop on the camera for a really small package. Good reviews too and handy focal length. Enjoy. And Jerry while you are figuring out your camera try the specialty modes on your camera in the "advanced filter" and panoramic mode. They should be located on top of your camera - can be some very nice effects in the right situation.

Some of the Fuji lenses are higher in quality. Two that come to mind are the 16mm f/1.4 and the 80mm macro.

The 16-55 f 2.8 isn't any slouch either but it is not compact by any means- takes a 77 mm filter.

My absolute favorite weighing in price and size and image quality is the 35 mm f2. Never never has let me down. Not too big either.

True. As soon as one gets into the Pro line of Fuji lenses, they become heavy and bulky, but not nearly as heavy or bulky as their FF counterparts. I recently sold my Nikon 70-200 for which the Fuji 50-140 is the C sensor equivalent, and the Fuji is still less heavy and bulky than the Nikon which resembles an RPG.

My main reasons for getting this lens are compact size, light weight, excellent image quality and ideal focal length (35mm equivalent is 41mm). I have three other Fuji lenses but this is my grab and go choice.

"QUALITY" is always going to be subjective. If the "quality" you are after is speed, yes, the 16 1.4 is it. But when durability is your quality it will be something else, if IQ, something else again. In general, Fuji quality (overall and IQ) is very consistently excellent.

In the Fuji line-up I use the 10-24, 18-55, 55-200, 23, 27, 35, 56 and 80 on my XT3. My X100F with it's fixed 23MM is always with me (due to size, leaf shutter, built-in flash that really works well and JPEG IQ).

The 27 is my least used lens at this time. Not because it is no good, it is, in fact, very good! It focuses very quickly & is super sharp! As a pancake lens it is very small and ideal for travel, however, my X100F is my go-to travel camera since the entire kit, including its Gariz leather full case fits in my jeans pocket like a dream.

The 27 comes along once in awhile due to its size, however, it has its drawbacks that annoy me: a missing aperture ring & the macro focusing does not work for me. At a similar focal length, the 23mm F1.4 is a better lens with its own "mojo" that enjoys IQ that is renowned, much faster aperture, and it removes the two concerns of the pancake 27.

You are smart picking a used lens, it is a wonderful way to keep the costs down. I have never experienced a problem purchasing a used Fuji lens, especially from dealers who warranty the lens for a few months. Enjoy your Fuji!!!

Cheers!
