Nice job on the panorama.

It might look even better to brighten the foreground land and crop the totally blue sky to put the horizon on the thirds line.

The scene is stunning, the light perfect to emphasize the fluffy clouds. The soft reflections in the water are very pleasing too.

There are significant banding artifacts in your sky, however. I believe that's from aggressive editing of a jpg; maybe others can speak to that. There is also what appears to be a sensor dust spot smack in the middle of your composition, just above the clouds.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Linda, I saw the spot after I posted it. Not sure about the banding you are referring to. Didn't really do that much editing other than lightroom stitching the photos together. Like your suggestion IDguy, thanks. Here is the updated photo.

Very creative pano. Like your interpretaton in the first one. Lightening up shows all of the "Tahoe congestion." Love that place, but so do thousands of others. Anyway, nice work!!!!

Thanks hiker for your comment. Now is a good time, summer crowds not here yet and winter sports have pretty much wound down.

Hi. Banding, which is an artifact, occurs when an image's tones are "pushed" further than they can accommodate for and the image then loses the ability to graduate tones across it smoothly. This can happen very easily in an 8-bit file, a JPEG file, in the sky. This is most likely because the camera captures less tone in the sky as there is more light in the sky but that would be a guess on my part. It normally does not happen in blue anywhere else in an image so I would guess that my supposition is correct. I pulled a screen grab of your image, simply follow the arrows down to help you see the banding, although it occurs across the sky as the screen grab shows.
