The OP will have to check. The manual says the “regular” ISO is adjustable to 6400, H1 to 12,800 and H2 to 25,600, but I don’t see the max auto ISO setting in the manual. if I had a choice, I wouldn’t push a crop camera beyond 6400 (or a FF beyond 12,800), but a noisey shot is better than a blurred or underexposed shot - you do what you need to do to get the shot.

One of the ways to do what you need to do is learning to shoot at slower exposure speeds.
I use all kinds of "helpers," like locking my elbows and pushing the camera against my face. I
also lean on any nearby solid object I can find. (An added benefit of pushing the camera into
your face is the diagram of the camera back on your nose and cheeks, a real attention-getter.) >AL

If it is a local church, GO THERE a few days in advance and make a few test exposures. Available light- flash? and see waht you get. Post the pictures here and get some real advice.

I have worked in churches all my life- not all of them are the same in terms of existing light. Some are bright and modern and some are dark and very traditional.

If you just walk in with no preparation, the odds are against you.

So...go there, ask permission, take along another person and shoot a few shots in the area where the ceremony will take place. Find out waht will occur during the ceremony and be ready to shoot the highlights. A 15 minute visit will prevent disappointment and aggravation after the fact.
If it is a local church, GO THERE a few days in ad... (show quote)

Great idea 💡
I did this prior to taking pictures of our pastor’s golden jubilee. That way I had a petty good idea of aperture, shutter speed and ISO for various shots during the ceremony. BTW, I did not use flash.

As I stated to "Wedding Photos" if you're asking this question you have no business being responsible for taking such important photos. Have your brother-in-law hire a photographer.

Well, it is simple to use, but the DR and high ISO / low light noise performance is abysmal - you could hardly pick a worse camera for the conditions.
