AI Clear still works in Studio if you already have it. My take is that Topaz wants people to buy DeNoise AI instead as it is supposed to be an upgrade, one free to those who previously purchased AI Clear and Denoise.

That sounds right to me...I asked another friend about the availability of AI Clear and here is what he said:

Although AI Clear is not prominent on their website, you can still buy it from Topaz. Don't know if they are pushing their other packages right now. When you go to their website and click on AI Clear it takes you to AI DeNoise so maybe that is going to replace AI Clear. But if you go to their blog about AI Clear and click on "How to get AI Clear" it takes you to a check out window and you can buy it for $59.

If anyone wants it, better get it while the getting is good.

Steve...I have no idea and this was the first time I have heard this from Bill's comment above. Sorry you are having trouble. My guess is they don't want to support software they feel they have improved upon. In this case the DeNoise AI.

I just read that Ai Clear is no longer available because DeNoise AI has replaced it.

I just received a reply from Topaz re the darkening effect on raw files sent to DeNoise AI. It was not very satisfactory, I am sure you all will agree. I found that saving as a huge .dng file and then adjusting brightness is better than doing it to a JPEG file, as there is more data. Hopefully, they will fix this soon.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for the color shift, but luckily the RAW processing is not altering the information in your photo, only interpreting the colors in a less vibrant way. Via adjustments like contrast and brightness, you can restore back to original color.

We will work as best we can to make our RAW processing more accurate so you do not have to do that in the future.

Thanks, let me know if I can help with anything else!"

I tried out Denoise AI after a free upgrade. I notice that Topaz state in their info that this should be used as the first step in your work flow and also that there may be colour changes to your pictures.
Whilst it can be seen that there is an improvement in noise, the colour change is unacceptable as I don’t not wish to introduce a trial and error step into my workflow.
I find that using ON1 resize, to crop into the picture followed by Topaz AI Clear works well for many pictures that I take after the initial raw processing.

Would you say that Topaz DeNoise 6 is better than DeNoise AI?

DeNoise 6 works very well for me. I'll probably stay right there.

How does the "DeNoise AI" compare with "DXO Prime noise reduction"?

Weird! I used the new DeNoise Al without any problems at all. It was fast also. I did use it first before I used anything else.

Denoise AI was a free upgrade for me, so I downloaded it to try it out on a few images. While it seemed to do a reasonable job most of the time if I used it immediately after opening a RAW image, it was slow. I like how Topaz AI Clear works, and use it frequently; unfortunately, AI Clear is no longer available from Topaz.

Actually it is still available. If you open Topaz Studio and the open a file, click on adjustments and you will see AI Clear on the list. Click on it and then you will see under the adjustment on the right where it states Try Pro version. Click on that and it will start a free 30-day trial. You can then use the full version for 30 days and purchase a license for it if you like it.

You're right NCMtnMan - they just removed it from the products they list on their website. As previously mentioned, you can also purchase it from their blog (search "topaz labs introducing ai clear").

I think Topaz is moving customers to purchasing 2 new products (AI Denoise and AI Sharpen) to replace AI Clear. So if you're interested, I'd buy it now while there are still working links.

I just purchased AI Clear last week for $59.95. It is a remarkable program, IMHO, and I use it a great deal.
