hand held 150-600, go easy on me I just take them for fun
Not bad, I wish I could hand hold a 600mm.
One suggestion, on the first photo, when shooting into the sky, try using +2EV of exposure compensation to get the exposure closer to the light on the bird rather than the sky.
You will notice that the shutter speed on the second photo ,with no sky, was 1/640s vs 1/2000s on the first photo.
That's not quite 2 stops but close.
thanks I was in auto mode I believe I was just shooting at random things I have a tripod but I didn't want to walk down the road carrying it , the camera was heavy enough although I did sit down on side of road to get first one. ive got bad hips and knees arthritis in my hips and back, need to see a neurologist due to pain down side of my leg. so just blifting the camera with that lens is an accomplishment lol I have downloads from steve perry on my tablet im going to sit down and start learning to use my camera in the right modes. like aperature etc. thanks for the advice!!
I recently got a quick mount head for my "photo" hiking stick(the top piece screws off to reveal a tripod mount). Most of the time it is a hiking stick, once in a while it is a monopod.
Wow may I ask where you purchased it
