As part of our 2008 vacation we had a few days in Paris, France.
The original plan was to have a week in the Canadian Rockies, a few days in Quebec, and 3 weeks in New England (in the fall) where whe would catch up with some American friends (who live in Colorado) before flying back home to Sydney, Australia from North America.
However when the travel agent asked "Do you want to save $500/seat on the flights as you have flown more then half way around the world and it is cheaper to just keep on flying?" and we said "Yes" he asked my wife "where do you want to stop over?" It only took her about 5 seconds to say "Paris".
We flew in, from Montreal, arriving early thursday morning and left late sunday night.
Here are some images of those few days.
We found the Parisians to be very helpful even in spite of my school boy french.
#1 Is the station near our hotel in the Rue de Tobliac (13th arr).
#2 Rue de Tobliac - Our hotel was ready when we arrived, and after a nap, etc, we explored the neighbourhood by foot (we did lots of walking whilst in Paris).
#3 The bistro, where we had our first evening meal.
#4&5 - Us.
Feel free to ask questions and more to come.
.
#1 We purchased a travel pass which made getting around on buses and trains very easily.

Richard, fantastic photos that are sharp and the DDLs prove it. I loved Paris when I went there on Business.

Very nice series! Love the more “non traditional” shots. I’m sure there will also be many great shots of the iconic landmarks. I’m looking forward to seeing them.

Thanks. We didn't do many of the landmarks. Most of the pics are "street" as we did a lot of walking and just soaked up the asatmosphere.
Don't you love the "bullet trains" in Europe??

We did. We used them on our 2006 vacation.
