I see it on Amazon for $99. One review says:
"This program freezes my computer every time I attempt to export images back to Lightroom Clasic CC. Doing a google search for a fix to this issue, it seems like it is a fairly common problem. If your work-flow is based out of Lightroom, I would strongly recommend waiting until this is fixed before considering this software." Another review echos this an says Aurora's PC's memory mgt is abysmal. Maybe on the Apple it's better. Chuck
I use Aurora (not that frequently though) and have not had any of these problems that you mentioned. That said, my C drive is a Samsung 950PRO M.2 which has my OS (Win 10) and program files only on it, and I have 64GB of Ram loaded in my PC, and a NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB of Ram on it. Aurora has worked fine for me so far.
Aurora memory mgt is terrible on a Window machine. I use it as a stand alone and occasionally I have to close PS to free up enough memory. I have 16gb. To me it is worth the inconvenience as the product is exceptional. They best way to use it is create your own presets and then use those exclusively. I have about a dozen or more and I do landscapes only.
Perhaps the problem lies in the fact that Skylum, the Luminar and Aurora developers were originally known as McPhun and I believe their original work was designed for the Mac operating system. I use an I-Mac and have only had problems with the library system of Luminar III. As soon as the semester is over, I am going to see if I can figure it out. Until then, I happily use Luminar 2018 and Aurora HDR with absolutely no problems.
