Today I took a mini tour of Marietta, Georgia.
Started at Sope Creek Trail leading to the paper mill ruins. The original mill was burned during the civil war...was rebuilt...and later burned again.
Later saw The Big Chicken....a KFC restaurant that has a 56 foot tall steel sided structure....a local landmark. In 1993 wind damaged the structure....KFC was forced by public outcry to rebuild the Chicken....among those who complained about the Big Chicken being torn down were pilots, who used the building as a reference point.
Finished at the Marietta National Cemetery, established in 1866...23.2 acres...very well kept....peaceful and somber....a quiet and reflective way to spend some time.
Nice series, Dean. Marietta looks like a photogenic place to visit.
