Pretty much a straight shot, as I saw the flower, cropping some distractions and getting the color as perceived by my mind/eyes.

Beautiful! Though the lit window is distracting. But you got an interesting perspective and the color is great!

Unusual flower shapes plus coooool background = supernatural.
I agree that flower color should be expressive of the viewer.

I appreciate the comments. BTW, I didn't edit out the window and vent because I was going for contrasts in light and shapes to the flower.

Sorry, artBob. I did not find it pleasing because of the distracting background elements and the neutral background color. I understand you were looking for a contrast and you got it but I bet you can do it in a more pleasing image.

Thanks bertloomis, now I get your point, and it is valid if I want a pleasing photo. Actually what I am aiming for is a Fine Art photo, with a sense of metaphor for life. That of course is a bit difficult to assess, especially since I am purposely pushing the envelope, late in my career.
