Only sold in Japan - How do I get it to the USA>

Am interested to purchase an NDTP 1 tripod by Nikon - but it is only sold in Japan - any thoughts on how I could get this tripod? Thanks

search on Amazon or Ebay, they often have dealers in Asia selling things direct to the US - warning, no warranty good in the US.

Order it and just have to wait on it. I get my back drops from there and it takes about 3 weeks cause it have to go through customs that is what take the longest

Google Yodobashi Camera store in the Akihabara or Shinjuku area of Tokyo and see if they have an English language section. Yodobashi carries everything. It is the Japanese equivalent of BH or Adorama, and may be able to ship it to you.

You may have to contend with the many different and compatible tripods that are readily available

With all due respect, with so many tripods of excellent quality in this USA it does not seem practical to me to order a tripod from a foreign country but that is just me.

Look on Ebay. There you will find many Japanese vendors that sell used and new Nikon products. I would contact several of them and see if they can get one for you. I am sure, for the price, they would be happy to help you out.

You may want to consider the fact that there may a good reason why they do not sell that particular tripod in the US. Adorama does sell a Nikon tripod but it is not the same model I believe.

I assume that its appeal is that it folds up compactly and might suit your travel purposes. However when the legs are fully extended (they are thin) the tripod would not likely be stable enough, especially if using a long lens. I suggest that you find and read reviews before purchasing.

I recently bought a lens from eBay in Japan with standard shipping that arrived in 6 days.

You might try Map Camera (https://www.mapcamera.com/html/worldguide/english_page.html) in Japan. They have everything--AND they have a store on Ebay.
