Great lens. Wish it wider, like 15mm, which would give us a 24mm Equivalent. Otherwise excellent all around lens.

Do you mean the tamron 18-270mm ? If so I ordered it from adorama and after trying it out returned it..it wasn't a bad lens for average all around shots..and would be fine as a walk around lens for vacations and such..however I am looking for something with much sharper and crisper images..it lacked detail when enlarged..also I did not like that the aperture could not be controlled manually. I would want a f stop at 4 but at various lengths it would change so I wasn't able to get the effect I wanted..I already have a tamron24-75mm that was a lot sharper and is a terrific walk around. So I am saving up for a Nikon with a bit more range...and more control..not to mention sharpness.
I say try it at the store with your own camera but before purchasing go home and Check the photos on your screen..then decide...

I have the 18-270mm, Di II. Latest edition and it is quite sharp. !6x20 prints are unbelievable. It is not a fixed aperture lens, therefore can not control wide
f Stop on long zoom. For that you would need a f.2.8, consent lens aperture and lot's of MOOLA.

I agree that the better lens will be a lot more money...yes the lens you have is sharp but I did notice that my tamron 24-75 had much better detail so I opted to stick with that for my all around..I am saving up for the constant f stop lens..I would have kept the 18-270 for an all around lens only.plus it's size and weight was perfect .but lenses are something that you need to decide what you are using them for..and this wasn't what I was looking for.. I am using that $600 toward the more expensive one which may take me a while to get..
A lot of folks on UHH love that lens..like I said it is a really good lens just not what I needed ...

I agree 100%, I have one. After reading all review I founded one, it was good deal, after, I realize that I lost some quality of picture, but I don’t have to change lenses.

Make sure you get the Tamron PZD feature. Makes it focus faster in low light.

The “PZD” designation in the name refers to Tamron’s “Piezo Drive”. What it is, is an auto focus drive that uses a small piezoelectric motor (or ultrasonic) to control the focusing

I have one and it's a pretty good walk around lens. My biggest complaint is lens creep. I have only had it for a short time and it cannot be mounted on a tripod shooting up or down because the lens moves. I would send it in under warranty but I need it. Wish I had a temporary fix until I can return it for repair.

I have heard that same complaint from others who had that lens..I don't think it can be permanently fixed..it does have a lock but only at the 18mm range ..

If you send it to Tamron, they will fix it free of charge. My friend did just that and it fixed the problem. Call them first for instructions.

To me there are concerns about Tamron period. I have one of their lenses, an 18-200 that has focus and aberration issues and it has turned me off to using any tamron product.

I'm happy with my Tamron 18-270, assuming that is what you meant when you said 18-275. I also like the Tamron 28-300 VR lens or whatever they call their image stabilized lens.

I just bought this lens about twoweeks ago for a walk a round lens. I bought it for less than halve price and that is still too much as for as I am concerned. It does alright up close to 100mm. After that is is not sharp and does not get very good pictures. I would gladly take what I gave for it. If you have the money to buy one save it and add to it and but one made by your camera manufacturer. I would not give fifty dollars for one now.
