Providing I can upload these pictures, I am looking for comments on whether the second picture works as a "wallhanger" (I recognize that the determination is really in the eye of the viewer) or whether I need to look at it another way. The second picture is the one my wife thinks we should hand in our "gallery." The first one is the general scene from which it comes - umbrellas in Old San Juan in Puerto Rico. The first picture is very colorful for sure. For me, the rips in a few of the umbrellas is off-putting. I have a dozen or so different pictures of the area but will only burden you with two. I am looking for thoughts on how I might better display the colorful scene.
Thanks.
2nd one didn’t upload. The umbrellas are quite editable.
I am not going to comment other than to say I really like them.
Murray, Thank you. I’m still wrestling with the system.

Edit the rips out if they bother you...should make a great print either way...go for it
I like both. Even with the rips in the one umbrella. (They are outdoors and weathered.
I think you could make a great triptych to hang if you made a third image, zoomed in on the umbrellas only of the street scene.
I like the rips because they are a break in the pattern that is both whimsical and supportive of the rest of the image. But, as mentioned earlier, easily cloned out. For #1 there are a few things you can do with levels/curves, as well as selective color saturation to bring out the ultra-charming mood.
If you're interested, post both with download provided to Post Processing Forum:

Make it large and it would look great as a metal print

Both images are excellent, but I feel that the second image of the umbrellas alone will make a fine abstract wall hanger. I also have pictures of hanging umbrellas that I shot in Concord, N. H.
Rich...
I like both pieces. I think one could be an insert, perhaps, into the other. The first one gives a nice sense of the scene, that I think is important. The second is a nice close-up. Actually, the second one looks more like a drawing than a photo.
My choice would be #2 and leave the tear in the umbrella......eye catching and quite the conversation starter!
Very good shots, SavH, #2 could definitely be a wall hanger, I really like it.
