I have a D5600. I just plug the SD card directly into my PC which has a SD card slot. Do the same on you IMAC. No need to mess with the cable.

Any micro USB to standard USB cable will do the job. You should be able to find them at just about any store with an electronics section, or at online stores such as Amazon. Or perhaps you have some other device that already has such a cable; you can use that. I have multiple electronic devices that came with such a cable, and I use them interchangeably, never a problem.

This kind of misinformation could cause someone who believes it to damage their camera. USB camera cables are NOT standard!

Need more info. Since I have neither a D5600 or a Mac, I don’t know whether you are looking for a card or a cable or adapter.

You can use a card reader or since you have a micro sd card, purchase a micro sd adapter, and then insert on the back of your imac.

And what the hell's a card reader?

KMA, Google it. The slot on the back is an SD card reader, or at least mine is.

The back of imac has a slot for a regular size sd card, so, you need the adapter for the micro sd card. Most micro sd cards comes with the adapter, or you can purchase one they are very cheap, specially if you purchase from Amazon.

Or for $20, buy a Sabrent triple USB 3, SD, SDHC, SDXC, and Micro SD reader that gives you easier, front access to ports. I hated having to feel around on the back of my iMac for the slots.

Where do I find a Micro USB that fits my D5600 for transferring photos to my I Mac? Thanks all.

The small connector on a Nikon USB cable is NOT Micro USB (or Mini USB) plug. It is a proprietary Nikon connector. The connector happens to be the same shape as Kodak cameras had, but a Kodak cable does not fit a Nikon jack...the black plastic bar inside the connector is in a different position.

It is too bad that Nikon, Kodak and numerous other camera makers did not see fit to use a standard USB-Mini B connector on the camera, as Canon did/does.
It would make life easier for someone (like me) who works at a re-use/recycle organization collecting donated cameras and trying to match cables to them.

The small connector on a Nikon USB cable is NOT M... (show quote)

Agreed. For whatever reason, not all Nikon models take the same cable. It would help if they were marked.
