Thank you, but it was pissed in the Attic sense and not meant to be personal and I do sincerely apologize.

The Cathedral of Notre Damn is burning, 800 years of history is being destroyed by fire.

I am sad for France, I am sad for history.

Two Century to build it, a few hours to go up in smoke. Plus the history inside that Cathedral

I just hope this is an accident as they say.

I am sad also.

Wow.

Wake up with a stiffie today?

I don't have any comment on whether he needed to, or should have made the comment that he did, but he is pretty much on target.

Sad day indeed.

So much art kept there. The windows were exquisite...I imagine most of the stained glass destroyed. The Rose Window was an incredible architectural accomplishment...from the photos I've seen, it must be gone.

My understanding is that it is intact.

I don't get many chances to respond to a post of yours in any favorable way, so I'll take this opportunity. Except from a couple of extremists on this site, I've heard no reason to not believe it was an accident. Life goes on, and there are worse tragedies, but there would have to be something really wrong with someone not to be saddened over this.

Yes. Thankfully. Evidently most everything in the interior including the alter, nave, and pews remain mostly intact according to an article I read.

I'm sorry I was never able to see it - only through pictures. How sad it is to lose such a magnificent piece of history.

Thank you I don't care a bit how you respond to me.

I am thinking also that might be an "accident" but, with all the desecration of churches in Europe and France, one has to ask questions about it, especially after seeing pics of Arabs rejoicing in front on Notre Dame. I am waiting to find out if the pics are real and I will post them.

I don't think muslims did this. It looks like an accident to me.

A terrible day in France is still better than a good day in the midlands of the US.
