I figure (through Google) that butterfly has to be the "Blue Moon" or "Great Eggfly" butterfly - very striking. This one would be a male. It occurs from Madagascar through Asia to New Zealand - I saw it in China.

If my rough ID is correct, its scientific name is Hypolimnas bolina. I'm sure you always wanted to know that

I will be certain to find a way to include that name in a conversation today. Actually, "Bolina" would be a pretty name.

Nice varied and well illustrated collection Bob. I wasn't nearly so successful in my search and then screwed up the photography - an off-day, I must confess. Probably because in between times I 'm trying to do my taxes!

That's enough to give anyone a very "off" day - BUT those tax numbers better not be "off".

Trying to "shoot" a single egg is challenging. I didn't do well this time and can't find my other one I liked so well. But here it is:

I "solarized" it and now it looks like a translucent globe or something
I "solarized" it and now it looks like a transluce...

It begged to be painted.

Good Morning Pat!
What great ideas everyone has come up with for your challenge!
Have not had much time this week to play, but here are a few from my archives. Might have to use your imagination on some! Be back later! Have a great day everyone!
