And, may be to some degree to the Peter Principle and/or Dilbert Principle.
Of course its not newly discovered...its been with us since the first upright walking creature banged on its chest.
I think it applies to everyone in some respect. We all have competencies and non-competencies and at times are incapable of seeing the latter.
