Like the subtle colors here, Bob. Ours aren't quite blooming yet.

Wow! What a find PAT! Hope you had yourself a bag to salvage a couple of pieces. I certainly would be finding some....but then we live in Indiana vs an ocean nearby!
Cool pictures, Bob
Thanks. No, I didn't bring any home - have enough "stuff" already.

Fascinating images, Larry! We'll probably never get to see these in person, so thank you for sharing the images

Thank you, too, kind sir, for hosting another "Free Sunday."
The following images were taken in NYC on National Tartan Day. Here's what Google has to say about that:
"National Tartan Day is a US observance on April 6 each year. It commemorates the Scottish Declaration of Independence, from which the American Declaration of Independence was modelled on. It also recognizes achievements of Americans of Scottish descent."

p.1 What a neat parade. Must say I have wondered how some are able to walk the miles of the parade with their size, and wearing all the heavy clothing.

I only got to one place to shoot this wee - the beach where an an unusual phenomenon is occurring. Dredging the river bottom as it enters the ocean and with exceptional high tides, driftwood ahs appeared for miles down he beaches. Big pieces have disappeared, but crafters are coming by with bags to select pieces suitable for crafts.
We had high winds recently so also have a lot of driftwood including large logs on beaches here.

I'm envious that you were able to be in NYC for Tartan Day and got those great shots of the parade. Next year marks the 700th Anniversary of the Declaration and there will be a huge celebration in Arbroath. We were there in 2013 and got these shots.
I took this yesterday. The whole tree is covered with buds and will be spectacular when they bloom. I would love to catch a cardinal in among them!
