I'm currently using a D7100, upgraded from a 10 year old D200. I'll probably be using the 7100 for the next 10 years...but the D500 sure looks good! Nice shot.

Nice photo. I've got that lens in Canon mount. I have the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary for Nikon. The contemporary works quite well and it's no where near the weight of the Sport.

I wrestled greatly in the decision between the sport and contemporary models. The cost and the weight were both greatly in the contemporary's favor. I decided on the sport model as being fully sealed was important to me for dust and moisture reasons. This lens is very heavy, but as I always shoot on a tripod with pistol grip head, the weight wasn't a big negative factor for me. When I get too old to use it, I thought the sport model might have a better resale value than the contemporary. It was a close decision. I'm sure I would have also been happy with the contemporary model.
