I’d be glad to share a few. Give me a couple hours for coffee and some breakfast - us retirees move at our own pace....!

Parque Almendares has a massive ficus. And I mean it's massive. John Lennon park. I dont think US credit cards work in the ATMs? Might want to check that. Vinales was nice but if you're already committed, days-wise, do it next trip.

2 days each, Havana Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.

Any special tips, or must see places? people, street scenes. landscapes.

I'll be using the D750 (or D500), probably mostly with a 24-70. Might take the 50 (very light) and a TC 1.4 just for a little extra reach, but?? Not likely take the 70-200 or 300.

Any special warnings?

I'll not belabor this point, but freedom loving Americans of all political persuasions are flocking to Cuba only to give the Cuban Government more money to support the suppression of the Venezuelan peoples. This about it. Much has been written. Here is one article.

Spent 3days in Havana last year, took my 7dII and my Tammy 16-300 walk around lens, the sea wall is the place to be at sunset I could make it to those fortifications across the channel my guess his it would be even better for you cann go from sunset over the seas to over the city landscapes in a couple step

Wish it were BS. As an American born before WWII, it was painfully embarrassing. So my statement meant to advise... for him or against him, if you discuss politics, that’s what you’ll get.

I was just there. The people are fed a solid diet of anti-American, pro socialist pablum. So anything they say has to be balanced against the fact that they only hear one story, and it is always sympathetic to their rulers. The people are gentle because they are pretty much enslaved, and free will is not on the menu. They work for the government, and there are always ears listening to them!

Leave the big tele at home. Like the reply above, the 24-70 or 24-105 is the best lens.
Been there last fall. Interesting place to visit. Have fun.

Whenever I travel I always take my 70-200 or my 70-300. For me it is essential for how else are you going to sit on a park bench or outdoor venue of any sort and get beautiful unobtrusive candids local shop keepers, street people etc.... without one. Very handy. Used mine in Cuba extensively. Yea, big and heavy but just as essential as a wide angle. If you're going to take pictures and you already own the gear try to take an overlapping armada of stuff. 2 to 3 lenses that cover from as wide as you got to as long as you got. Now your bases are covered for any anticipated situation. Just like travel clothes. No matter where I am going, rain gear, something for a warm/hot climate and something for a cold/cool climate. I have frozen on cool evenings in a warm climate and had hot spells in cold. Not to mention the unexpected rain storm.

BUT Cuba is about cars and places. They even warned you about shooting street people and how to do it - long lens no good here usually. I used my 24-70 f2.8 and will post a few samples as promised yesterday (wife got my in several home tasks and forgot!!). Usually my go to is a 28-300 and rarely miss a shot, but this is a short trip to CUBA.... just trying to help. Stu Parr
