"Only the dead find peace" Don't remember who said it but so true. Beautiful series that depicts the dignity and serenity they earned. RIP.
Oh, so many young men, their lives cut short.....very humbling!

Loc: I am from Gaffney, S.C. but live in Utah.
Nice photos. It looks like a Yankee graveyard to me. (:
Great photos. It does look somewhat like Arlington............speaking of which, not many people know that the Arlington National Cemetery was once property of George Washington's nephew I think and was passed to his daughter or granddaughter which married Gen. Robert E. Lee. Before the War of Northern Aggression began Lincoln ordered Federal troops to take this land from the Lee's as it was turned into ANC to bury Federal troops.
i actually wrote a poem for our fallen southern brothers
"OUR FALLEN BROTHERS"
Our brave young sons, going off to war.
Dying alone so far from home.
IOn fields and woods in lines formed well.
By rifle or cannon so many fell.
Brother's side by side, many falling together,
The battles being fought in all kinds of weather.
Many falling without seeing their homes again,
Giving all to the fight, to the cause, to win.
Never asking for much, to complete their chore,
Least we never forget freedom;s cost and more.
Lying in graves without even a prayer.
So cold, so alone, so forgotten, do you care.
The Charge has been given so many years ago,
That we must never forget them wherever we go.
They deserve our best, they gave their all.
So remember Our Fallen Brother;s as they stood tall.
Hope you enjoy!
