Does anyone have recent experience using Mack? I live a few towns away and I know they've been around for a long time. I did a web (and a UHH) search and I find mixed opinions on Yelp and not much else. I want to get an estimate for repairs on my daughter's Sony HX80 travel zoom.

Been using Mack for many years and they are a very reliable, well run operation. They are big in the warranty business so the retail end is not the major emphasis but are trying to expand it with seminars, trips, and other activities.
Yelp and other reviews are often one sided and only written when owners don't get what they not necessarily what they deserve. I was once in the store when an irate customer came in and claimed his repair should be covered under the warranty when it was clearly mishandled (looked like it fell out of a 4th floor window). The belligerent camera owner was yelling and cursing at the young man trying to help him. The owner came out and showed him the damage and how the manufacturer would clearly not honor the repair under warranty. The owner continued to berate both of him and stormed out of the store threatening that "this isn't over"!.
Anyway, they stand behind their products and service. They usually charge for an estimate if it isn't obvious and generally apply it to the repair.
A long time ago my experience was fine. You can go into NYC and use Chrysler Camera. It’s near B +H Camera.
In my experience they are reliable and knowledgeable. Ask for Gary.
I have purchased Mack contracts for all my purchased camera equipment and have been pleased with their service and return delivery time.
