Let's stimulate the economy by asking manufacturers to lower the price of their goods by first offering jobs at a slightly lower hourly pay.

Instead of stagnant work at $25.00 bucks an hour for mostly unskilled labor, try hiring at $20.00 an hour and lowering the purchase price. With the 'Made In America ' label prominently showing, folks might buy American instead of China, Viet Nam, Cambodia etc etc etc.

Also try to keep the CEO's pay in line with the workers. A worker making $37,000.00 a year shouldn't have a CEO making $3.7 Million a year.

Sarge - I think a better idea would be to ban any product that was not made in the U.S. and was not certified in keeping with our Polution and worker Safety Laws. Do not say that we could lower our polution standards do we want to have our rivers like theirs. I know OSHA has a lot of dumb rules but lets fix the dumb ones and also keep workers safe. China dosn't even follow the rules we have now llike lead in paint on kids toys. And by the way the workers in China have state insurance and their emplyers do not pay for that. - Dave

"...ban any product that was not made in th U.S...." Are you really that much of a communist??? I recently had a customer request that we sell him office furniture that was "Made in the USA". A noble thought.

We quoted him two final prices, "Made in the USA" and not. The "Made in the USA" was more than 5x the cost, and would be ready for him in about 6 months, the other would be here in a week. Which do you think we bought??

I did not say ban imports I said ban products that were not made with the same enviromental and safty standards that we have. Strange that I am a communist when I propose restrictions on a communist country - Dave

What the hell does " in hiding " mean when it comes to location?
I gather it means you come from somewhere you're ashamed or embarrassed for people to see where you're from. Like "O.K. it figures".
"That person comes from a state that's on it's way to bankruptcy."
"Poor person (could be a he or a she), They've lost everything they had, had the state spend their future, as well as their children's and grandchildren's AND they want every one else to pay for it!

We have crossed wires. I am a conservative, and was speaking out against corporate taxes. When anything increases for a bussiness, including taxes, it increases our cost as a consumer. Just as when I was managing a pizza shop, and minimum wage was increased. The owner had me raise all prices 10%. Many other small bussinesses that I knew of just cut their staff from 12 employees to 10. On the surface, raising the hourly rate looks good, but now all the people making more money are paying higher prices for goods and services. Some even lost jobs. I do have the utmost respect for our military ,btw, and thank you.

Or, it could just be what the UHH forum automatically puts when you forgot to put in a location.

In hiding? Perhaps it is used to avoid the kind of insulting gentilics often thrown around during our "debates".
i.e. Ice chipper, Buzzard, Muskrat, Bushwacker, Swamp Yankee, Cheezehead, Okie, etc., etc.

Has no one viewed or have an opinion on the video alann posted several pages back?

In today's LA Times there was yet another article about what a lying hypocrite he is. Seems he was very active in a bipartisan effort trying to get bailout money when his hometown GM factory was in trouble, even flying to meet with company reps when they were being offered tax incentives and other goodies, before Obama's election. He voted for $14 billion dollars in emergency federal loans in the "waning" days of the Bush administration. Then, magically on the day after the election, Ryan, along with every other Republican, changed his stance on every single Republican idea that Obama agreed with.

Amazing. A black Democrat takes office and now every one of your prior positions sucks. An entire party full of verifiable lying hypocrites. An entire party with no spine and no integrity, taken over by zealots hell-bent on destroying this country. God help us.

If I took your charges of hypocrisy and flip-flopping at face value, how are the Democrats and their cheerleaders in the MSM any different? The New York Times tends to change its view on any given issue depending on which party is in control of a branch of government. The filibuster is but one example. The NYT will call it a necessary tool if Democrats use it against a Republican majority but shamelessly turn around and call it a subversion of democracy when used by a Republican minority against a Democrat majority.

I seriously doubt that you care about hypocrisy and flip-flopping when it involves your favored party.

The NYT is great for lining bird cages and puppy areas. Talk about a Leftist circle-jerk! They haven't done a good journalism job in years. No matter who is president they're supposed to be OBJECTIVE, Not kiss the president's derriere. The worst part, it so BLATANT.

They are never supposed to have an agenda, just search for the truth, not their truth but the truth.

Instead they are lackey whores of one side - NOT THEIR JOB!

They have the Leftist DemocRAT mantra in everything they do, not the moderate democrat point of view.

But if all those leftists didn't come out of the closet, we wouldn't know who they were.

You can use the LA Times in your bird cage too! Where were they when California was going down the toilet? There are some papers who are a waste of wood pulp even if it is recycled.

Who buys this trash???

If they're printing what you want to see and read, you've got dung for brains.

Yes! The record corporate profits are really helping the economy. Let's give them more!
