TILLAMOOK, OR. VISIT
Planning on a visit there the first week in June for a few days. Any recommendation for photo ops?
There is an island lighthouse just off shore and great rock outcrops with fir forests. They do have good cheese and that is important to photographers (say cheese, click), they also have very good ice cream. That is the creamery in town, can’t miss it. Early June is often a bit soggy here, but there is always the chance you will luck out, but even if it is rainy, there are usually breaks. Have fun!
Isn't the old WWII blimp hangar still there? That's an amazing structure. And yes, there is cheese, lots of cheese, and last time we were there, they had ice cream flavors you don't find in the grocery store.
I have to second the lighthouse, as well as various places to pull off the road and view the coastline.
I grew up on the Oregon coast and live a bit inland now. Go to the headlands and the beaches. Check out the seastacks and cliffs. Try some long exposures of the water on the beach. Pay good attention to the surf when shooting from the beach. Every summer a few tourists are killed by sneaker waves or logs rolling up the beach. I’m not kidding. Pay attention when on the sand. It’s beautiful but you should expect rain. No umbrellas, the wind will destroy it in a New York minute. It’s unpredictable in June but the north summer gales probably won’t be there yet. Rain almost always comes from the southwest.
There an aircraft museum in Tillamook. Admission is about $10. Nearby to the east is Camp 18 Logging Museum. Lots of outdoor displays. Free admission. Restaurant on the property.

Tillamook Cheese offers free tours. Lighting in the factory offers some challenges, though.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
There used to be a USAF Radar Station there...Mt. Hebo, I believe.
The Chamber of Commerce used to have a brochure...."Tillamook, the land of trees, cheese and ocean breeze!" (As a young junior NCO, that slogan amounted to a tour of celebrecy, boredom and despair!!!)
Go to Oceanside and take the road up to the water tank and watch the hang gliders fly if there's a good breeze. Lots of photography opportunities up there, too. When you come back down take a walk on the beech and have lunch at the deli.

We were there a few years ago on a 7000 mile motorcycle trip, had a great time. Camped out on the beach with a camp fire. We were joined by several bicyclist from Canada riding the PCH. You will enjoy it, I was not into Photography very much then, however I am sure you will have lots of photo opts to choose from. Be sure to checkout the cheese factory, its a treat in itself. The PCH has a lot of photo opts for one. Enjoy.

Peter Airedale’s Shipwreck near Tillamook. Multiple shooting ops along that coastal area.

Auto ISO works great. Wider is better for a lens to us.
They also have a nice museum. Head east towards Portland and check out the Tillsmook
Burn visitor center and museum. It’s about a half hour out.
