Do you recognize this building? What can you tell us about it?

Ah, Thursday:

1. It's the "T" in "WTF."
2. It's day 4 of the hostage situation.
3. It's a wannabe Friday but it's not.
4. Nothing screws up Friday like realizing it's Thursday.
5. Yo, Thursday, Friday just called. She'll be here tomorrow and she's bringing the wine.
6. It's Thursday? Let's cease the day and go to the next.

.

Could it be the Little Shop of Horrors?

Last clue:

Shellback got the exact location. It's located in Rouen, France.

Will come back in half hour to ID the structure, a few interesting facts about it, and post a couple more photos.

For the food lovers in you, here's the answer:

Restaurant La Couronne (The Crown)
31 Place du Vieux Marche, 76000 Rouen, France

• Founded in 1345, the oldest auberge (inn or restaurant) in France

• Located in Rouen, France – capital of the region of Normandy
- Faces the square where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in 1431; a church was built in her namesake in the 1970s
- The spot also marks the place of Rouen’s old market square

• On the outside is a picture-perfect image of old France, with bright flower boxes and medieval timber framing exposed on the front.

• On the inside, the wall boasts of photos, some signed, of seemingly everyone who has ever eaten there.

• In 1948, the restaurant served chef and author Julia Childs (and husband, Paul) her first French meal, which was said to inspire her to devote her life to promoting French cooking. The meal consisted of:
- For starter: a half-dozen oysters on the half-shell served with rounds of pain de seigle, a pale rye bread, with a spread of unsalted butter (Beurre d’Isigny)
- Salade verte laced with a lightly acidic vinaigrette
- Main course: “Sole Meuniere.” Julia described that each bite was, “a morsel of perfection.” This was the dish that made Julia Child fall in love with French cuisine.
- A bottle of Pouilly Fume, a crisp white wine from Loire Valley
- Dessert: Fromage blanc, and ended with a strong, dark café filtre.

She described her first meal at La Couronne as, “I experienced fish, and a dining experience, of a higher order than any I’d ever had before.”

• Julia returned to La Couronne several times throughout her life.

“Bon appétit!”

sb, thanks for the kind remark. Glad you liked it. Thanks for looking.

It was a cloudy day with intermittent rain. It was quite a thrill to see where Julia Childs ate her first meal (lunch) in France. The place is sandwiched between 2 bigger buildings. For a minute, I could not believe that's a restaurant. Tried to peek inside and got a picture of the layout and with good timing, the waiter looked at the camera. Julia didn't know French then but her husband knew the language and did the translation. Well, like Julia would say, "Bon Appetit!"

"Bonne journée!" (Have a great day).
